Summer may be winding down, but things are definitely not slowing down on Bolivar Peninsula.
August and September are packed with some of our favorite local events—from golf carts and boats to golf tournaments, arts and crafts, and plenty of opportunities to get together with the community.

Here are five upcoming Bolivar Peninsula events to put on your calendar.
August 1: 2026 Bolivar Peninsula Golf Cart Poker Run
We are kicking off August with one of the most recognizable events on the peninsula—the 2026 Bolivar Peninsula Golf Cart Poker Run.
The event takes place Saturday, August 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Participants travel the peninsula by golf cart, collecting cards along the way before wrapping up the day with an after-party at Stingaree’s Down Under.
There are prizes for the best poker hand, decorated golf carts, largest team and even the team traveling the farthest. Most importantly, the event supports local schools, volunteer fire departments and community projects.

August 15: 12th Annual HARDHEADS Bolivar RIG RUN
Next up is an event that looks right at home on the Texas Gulf Coast.
The 12th Annual HARDHEADS Bolivar RIG RUN returns on Saturday, August 15.
The RIG RUN has become a Bolivar tradition, bringing boaters, sailors, families, sponsors and spectators together for a day on the water and another opportunity to experience the coastal lifestyle we love.

12th Annual HARDHEADS Bolivar RIG RUN 2026
August 22: Bolivar Arena Association Golf Tournament
Grab the golf clubs because August isn’t finished yet.
The 1st Annual Bolivar Arena Association Golf Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, August 22, at The Ranch “Wallis Smith” Community Golf Course.
The tournament begins with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start and supports the Bolivar Arena Association’s mission to build a permanent rodeo arena for our community.
Registration is currently listed at $100 per player, and sponsorship opportunities are also available.

This is a great example of the community supporting a project that could become another important part of life on Bolivar Peninsula.
September 19: Bolivar Peninsula Fall Arts & Crafts Fair
September brings one of our favorite opportunities to shop local and support local artists and makers.
The Bolivar Peninsula Cultural Foundation’s Fall Arts & Crafts Fair will be held Saturday, September 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Swedes Park Pavilion in Crystal Beach.
The event is expected to feature approximately 35 vendors with handmade items, artwork, gifts and décor. There will also be live music and raffle prizes, and admission is free.

If you haven’t experienced fall on Bolivar Peninsula, this is a pretty good excuse to start.
September 25: The Bolivar Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Classic Golf Tournament
We will finish September with a big one.
The Bolivar Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday, September 25, 2026, at The Ranch “Wallis Smith Community Golf Course.”
The Chamber currently lists the event from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
This annual tournament brings local businesses, residents, community leaders and visitors together for a day of golf, networking and friendly competition. Chamber signature events also help support the organization’s work promoting local businesses and strengthening the Bolivar Peninsula community.
