Selling a home takes preparation, strong marketing, the right price—and sometimes a little extra faith.
I’ve started planting small St. Joseph statues at my Crystal Beach listings. According to a long-standing Catholic tradition, St. Joseph is buried upside down near the “For Sale” sign while a prayer is offered for the right buyer and a smooth sale.
The Power Behind the Tradition
The power of planting St. Joseph is not simply in burying a statue. It comes from the prayer, hope and faith behind the tradition.
St. Joseph Prayer for Selling a Home
“St. Joseph, faithful provider and protector of the Holy Family, please watch over this home. Bring us a trustworthy buyer and help this sale happen quickly, smoothly and profitably. Guide everyone involved with honesty, fairness and peace. When the sale is complete, we promise to honor you in our new home. Amen.”

A small St. Joseph home-selling statue is placed upside down in the ground near a real estate sign as part of the traditional prayer for the right buyer and a smooth home sale.
St. Joseph is the patron saint of homes, families and workers. Many sellers find comfort in asking for his guidance during what can be an emotional and stressful process.
I still bring professional photography, consistent marketing, pricing strategy and plenty of follow-up. St. Joseph brings a meaningful reminder that sometimes we need to combine hard work with faith and patience.
Once the home sells, tradition says St. Joseph should be dug up, placed in a place of honor in the new home and thanked for his help.
Would You Like One at Your House?
If your Crystal Beach home is listed with me—or you are thinking about selling—would you like a St. Joseph planted at your property?
I’ll bring the statue, the prayer and a little extra faith that the right buyer is on the way.
