Gilchrist, Texas is an unincorporated residential community and beachfront resort along State Highway 87, located seventeen miles east of Bolivar Point, As you are coming from High Island and make the turn Gilchrist is the first community you will find on Bolivar Peninsula. We like to call Gilchrist the quiet side of the beach, enjoy the shelling, fishing and birding along this stretch of the beach.
